This hybrid, is the result of crossing Cattleya percivaliana with Laelia rosea. It is sought after for its vigorous growth and is expected to produce strikingly colored flowers, typical of complex Cattleya alliances. It thrives under standard Cattleya care.
- Light: Very bright, filtered light is essential. This hybrid tolerates more direct sunlight than many others, but avoid harsh midday exposure.
- Temperature: Maintain warm to intermediate conditions. The ideal range is 65-85°F (18-29°C), with a 10-15°F drop at night to encourage blooming.
- Humidity: Moderate to high (50−70%). Ensure continuous air movement to prevent disease.
- Watering: Allow the bark medium to almost dry out completely between waterings. Water generously when actively growing, and reduce when dormant (winter).
Additional Notes
This orchid is prized for its large flowers with a distinctive Cattleya lip. It forms thick, robust pseudobulbs. For optimal health, plant it in a coarse, well-draining medium (like fir bark) that provides excellent aeration for its roots.
