Laelia Finckeniana is a highly desirable primary hybrid, a cross between the species L. albida × L. anceps. This particular form, 'lineolata', results from using the striped-lip variety of L. anceps, making it a vigorous, adaptable orchid that exhibits tolerance for a wide range of temperatures.

  • Light: Bright to high light required, similar to Cattleya levels. Foliage should be yellow-green, not deep green. High light is critical during winter rest.
  • Temperature: Cool to intermediate conditions. Daytime 60-80°F (16-27°C), nighttime can drop to 52°F (11°C). Cool nights in winter help initiate flowering.
  • Humidity: Moderate to High (50-70%) during the active growing season. Good air movement is vital, particularly with higher humidity.
  • Watering: Water generously spring through fall during active growth. Provide dry winter rest after pseudobulbs mature - only light misting to prevent shriveling. Resume watering when new growth appears.

Additional Notes

The plant, produce long, tall flower spikes that carry several flowers above the foliage. The flowers are typically a pale lavender-pink or white, and often fragrant. The 'lineolata' cultivar is specifically known for having prominent, dark, parallel stripes or lines marking the center of the lip
